Gil Ginsberg Has Been Fixing Things His Whole Life
Growing up in the San Fernando Valley, Gil learned early that there's a right way to do things and a wrong way. His father was a scenic painter in the entertainment industry, someone who worked with his hands, took pride in his craft, and passed that same ethic on to his son. Gil grew up watching what it meant to show up, do the job well, and care about the finished product.
That ethic followed him into a career in IT management, where he spent over a decade leading teams, managing complex systems, and solving problems that had zero margin for error. He was the person people called when something was broken and needed to be fixed right, not patched, not worked around, actually fixed. That same instinct is what eventually pulled him toward construction.
In 2019 he started taking on handyman jobs in the Valley, mostly word of mouth. The jobs kept getting bigger because clients trusted him and wanted him back. By 2024 he earned his California B-2 Residential Remodeling Contractor License and in 2025 Handy Tech Construction officially launched, focused on ADUs, kitchen and bathroom remodels, and full home renovations across the Valley and greater Los Angeles.
People who've worked with Gil will tell you the same things: he's thorough, he's honest, and he genuinely cares, not just about the project, but about the person whose home he's working in. That kind of integrity isn't something you can fake, and with Gil it's never felt like anything other than just who he is.
Meet the Team

Gil Ginsberg — Founder & Lead Contractor

Gil spent over a decade in IT management before he ever took on a construction project professionally. He led teams, managed complex systems, oversaw implementations that had zero margin for error, and learned how to think through problems methodically before they became expensive. That kind of mind, analytical, detail-oriented, always thinking three steps ahead — is rare on a job site, and clients notice it immediately.
When he transitioned into construction he brought all of that with him. Gil doesn't just see a kitchen remodel or an ADU build as a construction project, he sees it as a system with a lot of moving parts that all have to work together. He thinks about sequencing, about what decisions upstream affect everything downstream, about how to anticipate problems before they show up. Combined with the hands-on craftsmanship he grew up with, it makes him genuinely uncommon in this industry.
He runs every Handy Tech job site personally, managing the trades, making real-time decisions, and holding the work to the standard he'd hold himself to in his own home. Clients who've worked with Gil often say the same thing: they've never felt more confident that someone actually understood what they were trying to build.

Loren Elkins — Co-Founder

Loren grew up in the Valley too, which is part of why this works. She and Gil share the same values about how people should be treated and what good service actually looks like.
Loren spent 20 years as an executive and personal assistant to celebrity and high-net-worth clients across Los Angeles. She knows how to manage complexity, communicate clearly, and make sure every detail is handled before anyone has to ask. She brings that same standard to every Handy Tech client — handling scheduling, communication, contracts, and project coordination so the whole experience feels organized and taken care of from start to finish.
What makes Loren particularly valuable on a remodeling project is that she genuinely loves design. She has a natural eye for style and aesthetics, the kind that comes from years of working inside beautifully designed homes and knowing instinctively what works and what doesn't. Clients often find her input as useful as any contractor's when it comes to finishes, materials, and pulling a space together in a way that actually feels like home.

People trust Gil and Loren. They're locals, they're genuine, and they've been showing up for people in this community for a long time.
